He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Ann Downey; his daughter Jeannie Hoover; his grandson Matthew Grape; his siblings, Laura Lee McCully, Robert Eugene Carey and James Joseph Carey; and his parents, Pauline Carey and Samuel Carey.
He is survived by: his children, Gayle Grape (Edward), Mary Vittorino (Donald), Virginia Umscheid (Floyd) and Aloysius Timothy Carey (Renee); his brother Ramey Carey (Kathy); and his sisters-in-law, Edith Carey and Loretta Ross. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
