He was predeceased by: his parents, Harriett Alice Johnson Burress and Tom Weston Burress; and his siblings, Tom Burress and Harriett Groshen. He is survived by: his wife Paula Burress; his children, Jay Burress (Cindy) and Madeline Sheppard (Mark); and his granddaughters, Annie, Ellie, Betsy, Molly and Maggie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church (9300 Nall Ave, Overland Park, KS 66207).
