He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Thomas and Lillie Thomas; his wife Mary Thomas; his grandson Christian Allen; and his children, Debra Vanderlinden, David Thomas (Elaine) and Diana Van Hoet (Gerard). He was also cherished by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
