He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Ruth Loesch (Klicker); his parents, Reverend David J. O. and Alice Loesch; his brothers, Rev. Donald Loesch (Carol) and Royce Loesch (Jeannine); and his foster brother Lester Hortter (Diana).
He is survived by: his children, Curtis Loesch of Huron, SD, Lynell Nelson (Tom) of Olathe, KS and Collin Loesch of Huron, SD; his grandson Erik Nelson (Adrienne) of Overland Park, KS; his great grandchildren, William, Margaret and Eleanor; his granddaughter Kayla Capper (Cameron) of Mountain View, CA; his great grandchildren, Logan and Hattie; his brother Rev. Keith; his sisters-in-law, Joan Loesch of Lee's Summit, MO, Jeannine Loesch and Marlys Barker (Robert); and his cousin Dorcas Balcer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (2040 Ohio Ave SW, Huron, SD 57350). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Restlawn Memory Gardens (21453 SD-37, Huron, SD 57350). A reception will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (2040 Ohio Ave SW, Huron, SD 57350). The inurnment will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at the Restlawn Memory Gardens (21453 SD-37, Huron, SD 57350).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation (Hospice Program), Dakotaland Museum, or Habitat for Humanity.
