We announce the death of Jane Porter Bennett (Overland Park, Kansas), who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 83. Jane will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Jane will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Jane will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Jane’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Porter and Virlea Porter of Mound City, Missouri.; her husband Ron Bennett; and her sister Ann Brown. She is survived by: her daughters, Katie Bennett of Kansas City and Elizabeth Tridle (Chris) of Leawood; her grandchildren, Bennett Tridle of Leawood Ks and Charlotte Tridle of Lawrence; and her brother Phil Porter (Jean) of Mission. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Resurrection Church. A reception will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens (11300 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210).
