She was predeceased by: her husband Bill; her parents, Kin Kimura and Motojiro Toyama; her sisters, Etsuko, Tsuneko, Kayoko, Atsuko and Hiroko; and her son-in-law Jeff Copeland.
She is survived by: her children, John Mentzer and Ann Copeland; her grandchildren, David Copeland, Laura Copeland, Bill Mentzer (Emilee McFarland) of San Francisco, Kayla Masako Mentzer, Brian Mentzer (Jenna) and Audrey Burks; and her brother Masahiro. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel (11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM at the same location.
