She is survived by: her husband Irving Arnold Myer; her children, Jessica Suzanne Whitaker (Aaron) and Jason Scott Myer; her grandsons, Noah Myer Whitaker, Austin Chase Whitaker and Caleb Christian Whitaker; her brother Leonard Smith (Sharon); and her pets, Sugar, Alex and Maddie.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Rita's name to The American Heart Association, The Humane Society of America or The American Cancer Society.
