He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Lyla; his sister Janet Hoyland; his daughter Jane Hoyland; his son-in-law Timothy Rassette; his grandchildren, Elliot Yochim and Holly Rassette; and his parents, Robert J. Hoyland and Louise Hoyland (Worley).
