With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Stayton of Overland Park, Kansas, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 15, 2026 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Robert departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Robert. Though Robert may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his wife LaRae Nelson; his parents, Charles H. Stayton and Fay Stayton; and his brother Charles H. Stayton, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Penny Shaida (John), Robbie Kreissler (David), Patty Coonrod (Gregg) and Lori Stayton (Lori Denton). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, four nieces, and four nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Christmas Cheer, in care of the Clinton Methodist Church.
