He was predeceased by : his parents, Alonzo Byron and Sally Winsby Ewing; his siblings, Allen Roderick Ewing, Blossom Ewing Randall, Mildred Ewing Frakes and Barbara Ewing Crews; and his nephew Roger Michael Randall.

He is survived by : his former life partner Margaret Fesler; his wife Clarice Innes of Warrensburg, MO.; his children, Craig, Cynthia (David Winkelman), Kent (Mary), Bart (Virginia), Scott Innes and Matthew Innes (Patricia); his grandchildren, Eric Ewing, Ryan Ewing, Scottie Ewing, Jackie Ewing, Ian Ewing, Hannah Ewing, Alex Winkelman, Isaiah Innes, Shelby Innes, Colin Innes and Claire Innes; and his great grandchildren, Walter Ewing and Ivy Ewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to St. Aidan's Episcopal Church.

“My heart breaks for your family at this time. Roger was a life long friend of my parents, meeting my mother in the 4th grade. Roger was a kind, loving, spiritual man who always had a welcoming smile and a big hug. Heaven (and my parents) welcomed another angel.
