She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Smith and Nellie Smith; her siblings, Vernon Smith of Osawatomie, KS, Joe Smith of St. James, MO, Louise Moreland of Salem, MO, Dorothy Brinkley Robinette of Anderson, IN, Nellie Lue Ireland (Michigan) and Nancy Cook of Rolla, MO; and her husband Claude Eugene Elms.

She is survived by: her siblings, Carolyn Johnson of Rolla, MO and John Profit of Rolla, MO; her children, Tommy Elms (Annette) of Overland Park, KS, Lisa Waln (John) of Beagle, KS and Johnnie Elms of Paola, KS.; her grandchildren, Jacob Waln, Jarret Waln, Stephanie Lemon (Waln), Thomas Elms and Nicholas Elms; and her great grandchild Sebastian Wilder Waln.
