He was predeceased by : his parents, Harvey Barnett and Edna Barnett (Hollinger); his brother Robert; and his son Russell. He is survived by : his wife Colleen Marie Ludwig of Paola; his children, Rolland (Barb) of Paola and Lisa Guenther (Lawrence) of Stilwell, KS; his grandchildren, Chet Barnett (Kelsey), Bret Barnett (Deanna), Ben Guenther (Lauren), Amelia Guenther and Jake Guenther; and his great grandchildren, Zach, Lydiah and Gage Barnett.
