He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Sims and Otis Sims; and his wife Cwen Sims. He is survived by: his daughters, Suzy Valadez (Raymond), Lisa K. Sims and Viki Dunn (Izzy); his grandchildren, Melody [Evan] Ott and Samuel [Hannah] Valadez; and his sister Glenda Torkelson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Dengel & Son Mortuary - Crematory (305 N Pearl St, Paola, KS 66071). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
To honor his wishes, the family requests donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Glaucoma Research Foundation.
