It is with sadness that the passing of John Taggart (Parsons, Kansas) is shared. John, born on April 7, 1941, passed away on July 3, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mothers, Lois "Tag" Taggart and Helen Adele Taggart (Barton); his stepson Lloyd Maxton; his sons-in-law, Steve Shipley, Raymond Wright and Leroy Myers; and his siblings, Jody Edwards, Phil Metzen and Kay Elser.
He is survived by: his former wife Wilma Maxton (Bays); his daughters, Becky Shipley of Parsons, Nancy Kemp of Parsons, Jennifer Stringer of Altamont and Pam Wright of Oswego; his grandchildren, Wesley Rakes (Jenna) of Oswego, Amanda Elmore (Jaye) of Parsons, Jyssica Lahey (Ty) of Altamont, Ashley Perkins (Chas) of Warsaw, MO, Brandon Kemp of Baxter Springs, Michael Nading (Vanessa) of Oswego, Levi Nading (Mary) of Texas, Derek Taggart of Altamont, Kyle Stringer (Heather) of Wasilla, AK, Joshua Clemens of Altamont, Paul Maxton (Morgan) of Oswego and Michael Maxton (Julie) of Bartlesville, OK; and his sister Fern Small of Frontenac. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
