Gary Jay Ellis Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Jay Ellis of Perry, Kansas, who passed away on May 29, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Irl Ellis and Gladys Faye Dick; his siblings, Marita Wentworth and Keith Ellis; and his brothers-in-law, Earl Wentworth, Jon Larson and John Sauve.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa King (Jerry Bollig), Debbie Bolden (Danny) of Lawrence, KS, Kimberly Urie (Scott) of Freeport, TX, Jay Ellis of Lawrence, KS, Robert Ellis (Dasha) of McKinney, TX and Joshua Ellis (Torrie) of Perry, KS.; his grandchildren, Jacob Ellis, Adam King, Anna King, Simon Urie, Garrett Urie, Riley Ellis, Liam Ellis, Olivia Ellis and Mia Ellis; his great grandchildren, Kaden King, Elias King, Tyde Urie, Reeve Urie, Ariah Robbins and Robbins; his sister-in-law Daryl Rene Ellis; and his siblings, Lila Larson, Carol Sauve, Sherry Sanchez, Merle Ellis (Rose) and Lee Ellis (Leeta).
A rosary will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the St. Theresa Parish Center (203 E 3rd St, Perry, KS 66073). Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Theresa Catholic Church (203 E 3rd St, Perry, KS 66073).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church or Jefferson County Friends of Hospice.
