He was predeceased by: his parents, John Merklein (Jack) and Hazel Merklein; and his granddaughter Lauren Merklein. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Merklein (Tammy) of Phillipsburg, Kevin Merklein (Marlene Bruggeman) of Phillipsburg and Mitch Merklein (Shelly) of Wichita; his siblings, Karen Dietz of Phillipsburg and Gary Merklein of Wetmore; his granddaughters, Kali Faircloth (Joe) of Skiatook, OK and Erin Nicholson (David) of Bailey, CO; his stepgrandsons, Ty and Keagan Smith of Agra, KS; and his great grandchildren, Baker, Maisie, Jase Faircloth, Charlotte, Samuel Nicholson and Kade Smith.
