He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne L. Smith and Luella B. Smith (Russell); his brother James Smith; his brothers-in-law, Forrest Peters, Lawrence Moore and Walter Schurz; and his nephew Robert Peters (Josh Smith).
He is survived by: his sons, Ryan W. Smith (Mindy) of Agra, Kansas and Ashley A. Smith of Phillipsburg; and his sisters, Marlene Peters of Phillipsburg, Jeannie Gantz of Beloit, Mary Lasiter (Jim) of Blairsburg and Linda Schurz of Phillipsburg. He is also survived by many grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel (1115 2nd St, Phillipsburg, KS 67661).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Russell's grandchildren's education.
