Barbara Shanks Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Shanks of Pittsburg, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 24, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Barbara's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Shanks; and her siblings, Richard Perry and Kay Marshall. She is survived by: her children, Stacye Ortiz of Frontenac, KS, Shane Shanks (Victoria) of Pittsburg, KS and Tim Shanks of Pittsburg, KS; her brother Stephen Perry (Debbra) of Locust Grove, OK; and her grandsons, Sam and Ethan Ortiz of Kansas City.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the SEK Humane Society, and may be left in care of Brenner Mortuary.
