He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Thomas and Ruth Thomas; his son Mike Thomas; his grandson Konley Thomas; his brother James Thomas; and his son-in-law Jay Vashler.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Thomas of Wichita; his children, Shanna Mead (John) of Haysville, KS, Leslie Vashler of McKinney, TX, Cindy Reed of Wichita, Russ Thomas (Jennifer) of Orrville, OH, Brad Reed of Wichita and Brian Reed of Agoura Hills, CA; his daughter-in-law Becca Thomas of Hartford, KS; his brothers, John Thomas (Delaphine) of Olathe, KS, Gerald Thomas (Pat) of Wichita and Harold Thomas (Alice) of Pittsburg, KS; and his sister-in-law Pat Thomas of Pomona, KS. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
