Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gene Earl Vollen (Pittsburg, Kansas), who passed away at the age of 90, on February 11, 2024. He was predeceased by : his parents, Guy Leroy Vollen and Stella Jamison Vollen; and his siblings, Harry Vollen and Gail Winne. He is survived by : his wife Linda Hunt Vollen; his children, Katherine Louise Vollen of Alexandria, Virginia and Guy James Vollen (Laura); his grandchildren, Margaret Rose Vollen of Wichita, Kansas and Robert Gene Vollen of Wichita, Kansas; his sister Norma Jane Johnson of Evart, Michigan; and his brother-in-law James David Hunt (Edith Langley) of Leicester. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Pittsburg State University Department of Music.
