He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Owings and Ruth Peavler Owings; and his siblings, Betty Smith, Nadine Alliston, Wanda Signaigo, Virgil "Bud" Owings and Sue Palen.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Sue Wingate Owings of Pittsburg, Kansas; and his children, Sarah Owings of Placida, Florida and David Owings of Placida, Florida.. He is also survived by family, he is survived by his nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The Owings family would request that anyone wishing to honor Guy should make donations to the two scholarships for which he was integral in establishing: The John Lowe Scholarship or the Guy W. Owings Excellence in Accounting Education Scholarship.
