He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Saia and Carmen Saia (Turlot); and his brothers, William "Bill" Saia and Richard Dean Saia. He is survived by: his children, Scott Saia (Lisa Jordan) of Pittsburg, KS and Stephanie Brill (Steve) of Seneca, MO; his stepson Stephen Wosel; his sister Carol Gates of Girard, KS; and his grandchildren, Olivia Saia, Michael Saia, Aaron Brill, Alaina Brill, Avery Brill, Alex Brill and Maggie Wosel.
