With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John LaForge of Pittsburg, Kansas, born in Girard, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. John left this world on August 21, 2024 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward LaForge and Gertrude LaForge (Diskin); his daughter Lynne Tankersley; his grandson Dylan Tankersley; and his siblings, Paul LaForge, Bernard LaForge, Pat LaForge, Bill LaForge, Roberta Padgett, Marilyn Vitt, Jane Coomes and Phyllis McAtee.
He is survived by: his daughter Jackie Maier (Jerry) of Loma Linda, MO; his son-in-law Jeff Tankersley (Jessica) of Olathe, KS; his sister-in-law Bernice LaForge of Kansas City, KS; his granddaughters, Jessica French (Adam) of Wichita, KS, Melanie Ebner, Rachel Tankersley (Randy) of Lee Summit, MO and Kate Tankersley of Olathe, KS; and his great grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia French of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Knights of Columbus or Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial fund; these may be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home, 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.
