He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Spangler and Maude Spangler (Wise); his wife Janet Spangler (Allen); and his sisters, Linda Baker and Barbara Spangler.
He is survived by: his children, Jason (Sandra Spangler) of Joplin, MO and Cassie (Kody Bicknell) of Pittsburg, KS; his brother Dan Spangler of Fort Worth, TX; and his grandchildren, Piper, Kage Bicknell, Jeffery, Jaxson and Brooklyn Spangler.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Colgan Booster Club.
