She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Hanis and Genevieve Hanis (Andrews); and her husband Bill Riney. She is survived by : her brother Bob Hanis (Sandy) of Portland, OR; her daughters, Kristy McKechnie of Arcadia, KS and Tracy Connealy (Chuck) of Leawood, KS; her grandchildren, Austin, Jackson McKechnie, Joel, Carly and Nathan Connealy; her stepdaughters, Laura Henness (Dave) and Suzanne Ahearn (Jim); and her grandchildren, William Henness, Margaret and Patrick Ahearn. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (109 E 9th St, Pittsburg, KS 66762). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic charities in honor of Mary Jane Riney.
