He was predeceased by: his father James Grotheer; and his brother Brent Michael Grotheer. He is survived by: his mother Joann Grotheer (Zagar); his sons, Mike Grotheer, Brad Grotheer, Matt Grotheer and Chris Grotheer; and his siblings, Tom Grotheer, John Grotheer (Jeannie), Elizabeth Carter and Theresa Brunskill (Jerad). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
