She was predeceased by: her parents, John G. Major and Marie Catherine Major (Jacobs); her husband Jim; her parents-in-law, Carl and Goldie Wood; her brothers-in-law, Gaylen Berry and Carl Ed Wood; and her nephews, Tobias Book and Brent Wood.
She is survived by: her son John Gregory Wood; her sisters-in-law, Thelma Berry and Betty Capp; her friend Norma Massa; and her pet Dotty. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Cemetery (402 E Quincy St, Pittsburg, KS 66762).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or a memorial of the donor's choice.
