He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Dunning and Lula Dunning (Folsom); his wife Marilyn Jean Hunter; his brothers, David Dunning, Loren Dunning (Elaine) and Lyle Dunning; and his grandchild Devon Mick.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Dunning (Cheryl) of Leawood, KS and Vicki Gile (Gene) of Hays, KS; his siblings, Alan Dunning (Lila) of Chanute, KS, Merl Dunning (Nita) of Stockton, KS and Nola Bump (Jerry) of Hays, KS; his sisters-in-law, Karen Dunning of Glade, KS and Nancy Dunning of McFarland, KS; and his grandchildren, Jessica Plante (Zach), Jay Hrabe (Kelly), Caroline Clemmensen (David), Annie Pitts (Bobby) and Hunter Dunning (Alana). He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home (320 2nd St SW, Plainville, KS 67663). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church - Plainville (1002 Madison St S, Plainville, KS 67663).
