He was predeceased by : his parents, Lorenzo Swartz and Erma Brown Swartz; his siblings, Bobby Swartz, Shiela Roach and Erma Minor; and his brother-in-law Larry Minor.

He is survived by : his children, Gloria Thurman (Tommy), Louis Swartz Jr., Christopher Swartz and Lacey Greenstreet; his siblings, Gary Swartz (Dee), Richard Swartz, Larry Swartz (Sheena), Lorenzo Swartz Jr. (Sharon), Nellie Gilkey (John) and Marsh Jennings (Billy); and his brother-in-law Gary Roach. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
