He is survived by: his wife Susan McIntosh; his sons, Jerry Thornton (Beth), Jamie Thornton of Ottawa and Eric Thornton (Kathryn); and his siblings, Joyce Todd (John) and Johnny Thornton (Peggy). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dengel & Son Mortuary - Crematory (235 S Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067).
