We announce the death of Doug Meyer of Pratt, Kansas, who passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 74. Doug will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Meyer and Shirley Meyer (Damman); his nephew Judson Strong; and his brother-in-law Jeff Kennedy. He is survived by: his wife Jan Meyer (Kennedy) of Pratt; his daughters, Jenny McAtee (Trent) of Pratt and Hilary Samuels (Jerry) of Queen Creek, Arizona; his sisters, Lisa Rose (Rusty) of Rose Hill and Sandra Spearman of Kansas City; his grandchildren, Grant Douglas McAtee of Pratt and Madison Loma McAtee of Pratt; his mother-in-law Marilyn Kennedy of Pratt; his aunts, Delora Meyer of Hanover and Marcine Duensing of Marysville; his uncle Gary Cummings (Kay) of Kingsdown; his cousins, Carol Walter (Larry) of Hiawatha, Betty Hilton of Augusta and Judy Chaput (Larry) of Clifton; his nephews, Jason Rose of Wichita and Cory Drennon of Raytown, Missouri; his niece Amy Shire (Jason) of Wichita; his great-nephew Harrison Rose of Wichita; his great-nieces, Caroline and Annabel Shire of Wichita; and his sisters-in-law, Patti Gorham of Wichita and Jocelyn Kennedy of Lenexa. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Larrison Mortuary (300 Country Club Rd, Pratt, KS 67124). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Beginnings Global Methodist Church (123 N Ninnescah St, Pratt, KS 67124).
Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Global Methodist Church, Elm Mills Recreational Co. or Lemon Park Lights.
