She was predeceased by: her parents, W. Dale Boyce and Dorothy E. Boyce (Burns); her spouse Orley Whitaker; her stepdaughter Margo Harris; and her nephews, Richard Harper and Pat Hopkins (Berry Hopkins).
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Milton Whitaker Ellinwood, John C. Whitaker (Wichita) and Maretha Washington of Ellinwood, KS; her sisters, Carolyn Blackburn of Hutchinson, KS and Linda Seck (Gerry); and her nieces and nephews, Tamra Unruh, Brenda Hays, Tina Cook, Jay Schmidt and Rex Schmidt. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ziegler Funeral Chapel- Dodge City (1901 N 14th Ave, Dodge City, KS 67801). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at the Appleton Township Cemetery (652 County Rd F, Minneola, KS 67865).
