It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Meri C. McClain of Russell, Kansas, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill McClain and Frankie McClain (Gooch); her husband Dwane Leroy McClain; her sons, Jesse and Billy Smith; her stepsiblings, James Gooch and Patricia Parrett; and her stepdaughter Mary McClain.
She is survived by: her siblings, Lee Gooch (Sonya) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Amy Heaton (Michael) of Russell, Kansas; and her stepsons, Gary McClain (Diana) of Overland Park and David McClain (Lorraine) of Abilene, Kansas. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church (209 E Wisconsin St, Russell, KS 67665). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Grand Center Cemetery (1467 W 290th Dr, Waldo, KS 67673).
