He is survived by: his wife Rita (Bohnen); his sons, Rich (Tammy) of Russell, Jeff (Terrie) of Phoenix, AZ and Kevin (Sheri) of Hays; his grandchildren, Nathan (Melissa) of Wichita, Ryan (Jessica) of Kansas City, MO, Dylan (Lauren) of Catherine, Regan Varati (Garrett) of Larned, Kathleen Collier (Hunter) of Phoenix, AZ, Anna Williams (Ross) of Pensacola, FL., Justin Gilbert (Kayla) of Fort Worth, TX and Jennifer Gilbert of Phoenix, AZ.; his great grandchild Wyatt Krause; and his sisters, Alyne Strube of Choctaw, OK and Carol Prester of Russell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary (610 N Maple St, Russell, KS 67665). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Manor and sent to the mortuary.
