Meckel; his children, Elizabeth Davis of Russell, Anne Stoops (Jason) of Georgetown, Texas, Mark Davis (Michelle) of Russell, Paul Davis (Aura) of Hays, David Davis (Mindy) of New Iberia and Matthew Davis (Mallory) of Russell, Kansas; and his brother Jim Davis (Lois) of Arkansas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and a host of friends.

A Memorial has been established in lieu of flowers to Bible Baptist Church.
