We announce the death of Darlene Spence (Salina, Kansas), who passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 84. Darlene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony "Andy" Breitenstein and Ann Breitenstein (Sadowsky); her husband James "Jim" W. Spence; her granddaughter Mattison Hadley Peterson; and her daughter-in-law Debra Kelso.
She is survived by: her children, Kelly Davert (Mike), Scot Kelso, John Kelso (Deanna), Lynn Marshall (Curt) and Margaret Peterson (James); her grandchildren, Christian Kenney, Dylan Kelso, Andy Marshall, Remington Peterson, Raven Peterson, Kellian Peterson and Keiran Peterson; her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Peterson and Elaine Peterson; her brother Gene Breitenstein; and her friend Pitch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Darlene's honor may be made to Sacred Heart High School in Salina, Kansas, or the Rebecca A. Morrison Hospitality House in Salina, Kansas.
