In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Dee leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Dee may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Verne Cheney and Myrtle Cheney (Herman); his wife Lois Sanders (Shetron); and his brother Delbert. He is survived by: his daughter Deanna Venable (Robert) of Georgetown, TX; his granddaughter Stephanie Wallace (Doug) of Georgetown; and his stepchildren, Steven Sanders of Simpsonville, SC, Kevin Sanders of Phoenix, AZ and Cathy Mourning of Wichita. He is also survived by many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Parsons Funeral Home - Hall Chapel (111 E Elm St, Lincoln, KS 67455). A burial will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at the Vesper Cemetery.
