He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Compton and Patricia Compton; his son Christopher Compton; and his siblings, Cindy and Michael.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Jancee Schuerger, Daniel Compton and Matthew Compton; his grandchildren, Trevor Hampton, Karastyn Schuerger, Danielle Kirkendoll, Anna Compton, Cole Compton, Claire Compton, Kristopher Compton, Gabe Compton, Adison Brant and Sebastian Brant; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Hampton and Avery Kirkendoll.
