He was predeceased by: his parents, William Walter and Esther Amelia Smutz (Bennett). He is survived by: his wife Helen; and his children, Susan Timbrook (Dan), Sharon Guettermann (Norm), John Jr. (Alta) and Kenny (Stacey). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
