With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael J. Schmiedeler (Salina, Kansas), born in Beloit, Kansas, who passed away on July 22, 2022 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis E. Schmiedeler and Lucille A. Schmiedeler (Pahls); his daughter Regan; his siblings, James Schmiedeler and Jeanne Crawford; and his godmother Dorothy Schmiedeler.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn K. Swenson; his children, Charles Schmiedeler (Travis) and Mykel Purkapile (Matt); his grandchildren, Rylan Michael Purkapile, Drew Steven Purkapile and Peyton Kay Purkapile; and his brothers, John Schmiedeler (Zoe) and Thomas Schmiedeler (Barb). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Best Friends Animal Society or Salina Animal Services.
