He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Powell and Louise Powell (Sauer); his brother James Powell; his siblings-in-law, Larry Crayton and Leigh Powell; and his close friend Tony Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Leann Crayton; his daughters, Megan Mack Moray (Will) and Shelby Werner (Joshua); his grandchildren, Olivia, Finlee, Maverick, Serenity, Kaladin, Wilder and River Werner; and his siblings, Curtis Powell (Yolanda), Robert Powell and Vicky Crayton (Lewis). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Imagination Library of Kansas; Storytime Village, or Reach Out and Read Kansas City in care of Ryan Mortuary.
