We announce the death of Larry Challis Wright in Scott City, Kansas, who passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 93. Larry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Larry will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Larry will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Larry’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elva and Leone Myrtle Challis Wright; his wife Doris Maxine Deaver; his brother James Wright; and his grandson Jeffrey Wiechman.
He is survived by: his children, Susan (Vance Wiechman), Kyle (Stacy Hoeme) and Lynn (Calista Wright); and his siblings, Gary (Darlene Wright) and Alene Sheldon of McPherson. He is also survived by Nine Grandchildren, and Nineteen Great-Grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Scott City (412 S College St, Scott City, KS 67871).
