He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Hammes and Cornelia Stallbaumer Hammes (Cora); his wife Sara Habing; and his siblings, Gerald, Donald, Leo, Kenneth, Cleta Mae Haverkamp, Dorothy Schraad and Bernice Heiman.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Hammes of Seneca; and his siblings, Galen of Seneca, Larry of Topeka, Mary Rose Feuerborn of Richmond and Jeanette Becker of Seneca.
Memorials can be given in Alvin's memory to Sts. Peter & Paul Church or Best Life Community Services (formerly Nemaha County Training Center).
