It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jackie Lynn Sylak-Deters of Seneca, Kansas, who passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Jackie departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Jackie may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Jackie leaves behind.
She is survived by: her parents, Susan "Sue" Bloom and Stephen "Danny" Sylak of Ohio; her husband Richard F. Deters of Mary's Catholic Church; her children, Finn Ferdinand and Emily Wilhelm (Jake) of Kansas City, MO; and her siblings, Danielle Watson, Daniel Sylak, Amanda Henry and Jeremy Darrah.
