He was predeceased by : his parents, Jake C. Unruh and Caroline Unruh (Seiler); his wife LaDean; and his brothers, Alvin, Edwin and Glen.

He is survived by : his siblings, Lorene Hiebert of Iroquois, Dorothy Unruh of Montezuma, Kansas, Donald Unruh of Newton, Kansas and David Unruh (Nola) of Gentry, Arkansas.; his children, Dennis (Lois) of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, Gary of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Jason (Lori) of Sharon Springs, Kansas and Linda (Kent Blakely) of Helena, Montana.; and his grandchildren, Dennis, Jonathan, Heidi, Katrina, Jordan, Justin, Megan, Nathan, Isaac, Zachary, Lauren, Maike and Natalie. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
