She was predeceased by : her parents, Chester Alvin and Mildred Opal Reese (Perkins); and her former life partner Keith Duane Unruh. She is survived by : her sons, Walter Unruh (Blanca) of San Antonio and William Unruh (Jennifer) of Pittsburg, Kansas.; her great grandchildren, Noah, Audrey and Bellamy; her husband Walter John UnruhSon; and her grandchildren, Noah, Audrey and Bellamy. She is also survived by eighteen nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions "In Memory of Verla Nylene Unruh" can be made to MDHAC.
