She was predeceased by: her parents, Logan Homer and Doris Sanford (Nelson); her husband William "Bill" F. Symns; her daughter Jenny Newell; her stepsons, Melvin Ferguson and Bud Ferguson; her sister Corrine Christman; and her grandsons, Cody Gatton and Michael Shelton.

She is survived by: her children, Randall "Randy" Fox of St. John, Rodney Fox of St. John and Mary Gatton (Danny) of Stafford, KS; her stepdaughter Carol Hartsell (Merlin) of Pratt, KS; her sister Bonnie Williamson of Wichita, KS; and her grandchildren, Lori Reneau (Kenny), Brian Fox, Rebecca Adame (Aurelio), Kayli Kisner, Kristin Petty (Steve), Casey Gatton and Emily Moore (Allan). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
