He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Farris and Betty Farris (Arnold); his spouse Shirley Ann Cruth; and his stepfather Bill Miller. He is survived by: his children, Chad Farris of Sterling, KS and Haley Brown (Joshua) of Raymond, KS; his grandchildren, Owen Brown, Kevin Brown and Khloe Brown; his sister Barbara White of Slater, IA; and his stepsiblings, Bob Miller of Colorado Springs, CO, Bobbi Burns of Newton, KS and Mary Piper (Bob) of Manhattan, KS..
