He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Cornell and Thelma Cornell (Webb); and his son Curtis (Yorkie Katie). He is survived by : his wife Judith Cornell (Hunt); his daughters, Leslie (Paul Kies) and Jennifer (Justin Teiwes); his grandchildren, Christopher Cornell, Jack Teiwes, Brock Cornell, Rachel Kemp and Ava Teiwes; and his sisters, Joyce Wead and Jeana Reed. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.

Ron Cornell wrote a sympathy message

“To the Roger Cornell family. So sorry for your loss. I've known the Walter Cornell family since I was 5 years old. (I'm Lloyd Cornell's son Ron, now 78). I always thought Roger was such a nice, quiet spoken guy. I wanted to attend his funeral, but I recently had COVID, so don't want to take any chances.
