In loving memory of Kermit Dean Schindler Sr. of Stockton, Kansas, who departed this world on August 12, 2025 at the age of 88. Kermit leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Schindler and Vera Schindler (Arrington); his significant other Barbara Richardson; his siblings, Abe "Junior" Schindler (Shirley), Avis Look (Lester), Rita Hrabe (Gene), Richard, Charlie and Henry Schindler; his siblings-in-law, Julie, Sandy Schindler and Normand Hrabe; and his children-in-law, Mark Wooley and Machelle Schindler.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Schindler-Wooley of Dorrance, KS, Neva Byfield of Stockton, Kermit Schindler, Jr. of Plainville, KS and Rena Schindler of Stockton; his siblings, Zoe Hrabe of Stockton, Marvin Schindler of Goddard, KS, Louis Schindler of Hill City, KS, Kenneth Schindler of Topeka, KS and Marilyn Miller (Dwight) of Stockton, KS; his son-in-law Kendall Byfield; his grandchildren, Nellie Grimes (Brandy), Miranda McCune, Faith Schindler, Bethany Schindler and Athan Schindler; and his great grandchildren, Blake Ballinger, Samuel McCune, Ayden McCune, Caleb Schindler, Anjoleigh, Harlow Schindler and Vienna Schindler.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home (723 N 1st St, Stockton, KS 67669). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
